Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11

The 990 forms are presented to the board of directors prior to filing via email. Cfi presents all financial reports to the board of directors at its annual meeting for review. The annual cfi financial statements are prepared by the bookkeeper and approved by the executive director then presented to the board. The cfi tax return is prepared by a certified public accountant, who is the same company that does the audit. In all respects, cfi maintains its compliance with all federally regulated tax laws governing non-profit, 501 (c) 3, organizations. W-2 forms are issued for all employees and 1099 forms for any staff hired as contract labor working in the u.s.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

The organization's conflict of interest policy is reviewed annually by each member of the board of directors. Any changes to the policy are communicated immediately to all responsible persons.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

The organization does an annual review of executive salaries of staff working for non-profit organizations in northern california. The data is drawn from a salary survey conducted by the center for non-profits. Salaries are set at levels comparable to the titles of executive director and administrative director based on experience. Once the salary level is determined, it is proposed to the board of directors for approval during the annual board meeting and becomes active at the beginning of the new fiscal year. It is documented in the minutes of the board meeting.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

Cfi has its conflict of interest policy, financial statements, and copies of the 990 available to the public upon request.
