The purpose of the Foundation is to develop, hold, manage, and distribute endowment funds for the Carmel Bach Festival, Inc. Additionally, the Foundation receives restricted contributions on behalf of the Festival.

All of the endowment funds classified as permanently restricted net assets, represent donor contributions that are subject to restrictions of gift instruments requiring that the principal balances be maintained in perpetuity. By law, the Foundation is permitted to transfer all interest and realized/unrealized gains to unrestricted net assets. During the year ended December 31, 2022, the Foundation utilized investment earnings generated by assets classified as permanently restricted and transferred an approved draw to the Carmel Bach Festival (a related organization).
