Mission

The Anchorage International Film Festival was founded in 2001 in order to bring indepedent and international films to Anchorage, and to showcase the quality films made in Alaska. Our mission is to develop, promote, and sustain a film festival that supports new media and independent filmmaking in Alaska and around the world, while enriching cultural and entertainment opportunities for Alaskans.

The anchorage international film festival's mission is to enhance entertainment and cultural opportunities for all alaskans, while promoting and supporting the art of independent filmmaking. The anchorage international film festival's main goal is to develope an event that helps build a stronger, more vibrant commmunity in alaska: artistically, socially, and economically. The 14-day film festival includes the screening of 165-175 selections taken from a field of 450 international entries.
