The foundation has awarded five to seven teacher grants totaling 1,500 to 3,000 each granting period. There is also a provision for campus-wide grants totaling 5,000 per year. The foundation hopes to provide teaching with many of the same hands-on learning materials to future generations of students by continuing to award 5,000 to 6,000 annually to grant projects.”

THE FUNDS COLLECTED WILL BE SPENT ON ACADEMIC PROJECTS FOR WHICH TAX DOLLARS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. CONTRIBITORS FROM THE PUBLIC WILL PROVIDE AN ENDOWMENT WITH THE INTEREST PROVIDING THE GRANTS TO TEACHERS AND STUDENTS. THE ORGANIZATION WILL AWARD GRANTS TO TEACHERS AND STUDENTS DISTRICT-WIDE WHO HAVE IDEAS THAT REQUIRE FUNDING WHICH IS NOT BUDGETED. GRANT REQUESTS ARE SUBMITTED BY MAIL IN A BLIND APPLICATION TO THE GRANT AWARDS COMMITTEE. THESE REQUESTS ARE JUDGED ON FIVE CRITERIA ON A TEN-POINT GRADING SCALE. THE SCORES ARE THEN TALLIED AND THE HIGHER SCORES ARE REWARDED THE AMOUNTS REQUESTED. THE FOUNDATION HAS MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR TEACHERS TO ENHANCE THEIR LESSONS WITH VARIOUS LEARNING CENTERS FOCUSING ON SUCH AREAS AS MATH, SCIENCE, AND READING. HANDS-ON SCIENCE MATERIALS, LAB MATERIALS HAVE ALL BEEN PROVIDED TO INCREASE THE STUDENTS' LEARNING ABILITIES. GRANTS ARE AWARDED DURING THE FALL AND SPRING OF EACH SCHOOL YEAR. THE FOUNDATION HAS AWARDED FIVE TO SEVEN TEACHER GRANTS TOTALING 1,500 TO 3,000 EACH GRANTING PERIOD. THERE IS ALSO A PROVISION FOR CAMPUS-WIDE GRANTS TOTALING 5,000 PER YEAR. THE FOUNDATION HOPES TO PROVIDE TEACHING WITH MANY OF THE SAME HANDS-ON LEARNING MATERIALS TO FUTURE GENERATIONS OF STUDENTS BY CONTINUING TO AWARD 5,000 TO 6,000 ANNUALLY TO GRANT PROJECTS. |
