“Science & engineering project competition - under the auspices of the international science and engineering fair (isef), annually since 1957, the drsef has organized a regional science and engineering project competition. It is now open to over 2,000 public schools and all private and charter schools in texas education agency region 10. The regional fair day draws over 1,000 students who won their school fairs, about 200 teachers, and 500 volunteer judges - probably the largest single volunteering event in north texas. Science projects go on free public display after the competition.”
“International science fair: each spring the drsef assists regional science fair winners to compete in state and international science fair competitions through logistical and financial support including affiliation fees, project shipping, travel, accommodation and mentoring.”
“Awards banquet: each spring, the drsef holds two awards banquets (one for junior and one for senior divisions) for 600 students, parents, and teachers to recognize winning students and teachers from the regional science fair. SCIENCE PROJECTS GO ON FREE PUBLIC DISPLAY AFTER THE COMPETITION. |
