“The purpose of this corporation shall be to study, promote and participate in men's chorus music, to provide entertainment for the public and to recognize and advance the power of music.”

“During the year, the staples area men's chorus (samc) had 29 members. Our year started with the little red caboose variety show on august 15, 2024, in which we performed and assisted backstage. 19 members participated along with 36 other adults and 7 youth participants and there were 188 in attendance. "real men sing" was cancelled as we were unable to secure a guest director for the festival. Another goal of the festival is to help high school and college music programs attract and retain male singers for their choral ensembles and to help them remain strong and vibrant organizations. Real men sing aims to help young men find the joy and richness that singing brings to life. Due to having to cancel real men sing, we decided to reach out to 3 area schools and sent small groups of singers to participate in their class room activities: pine river backus high school on october 24, 2024 with 7 members 3 other adults and 29 high school and 31 middle school students, this culminated with being invited back to sing in their christmas concert on december 16, 2024 with 8 members, 42 senior high choir students, 18 middle school choir students and 40 instrumentalists with 280 in attendance; sebeka high school on october 30, 2024 with 11 members 3 other adults and 42 high school students; and perham high school on march 27, 2025 with 14 members and 38 high school students. We continued our outreach by participating in several other area events: frosty's spirit and social club in the batcher's opera house in staples on november 6, 2024 with 19 members and 22 in attendance; a retirement celebration for the executive director of the five wings arts council at the landmark event center in staples on november 20, 2024 with 23 members and 91 attendees from the five county area; the wadena arts and crafts christmas festival at the wadena deer creek high school commons area on november 30, 2024 with 20 samc members and a 120 attendees; and we participated as part of our outreach and virtual delivery in the empty stocking fund raiser in december of 2024 23 samc members, which included a radio feed. We held our annual community christmas concert as a combined effort with the staples area women's choir with 45 performers and 211 in attendance. In continuing with our outreach opportunities, the samc sang at the pines senior center and lakewood senior care center with 18 members participating and 32 and 30, respectively in attendance on january 15, 2025. As another outreach opportunity the samc sang at several area churches: faith lutheran church on november 3, 2024, with 18 participants and 142 attendees; clarissa lutheran church and clarissa senior center on march 9, 2025, with 15 participants and 104 congregational members and 50 care center residents. We had our spring concert in the neighboring community of clarissa mn as another joint effort with a local band with the theme of the "50's & 60's" this featured 53 performers and 280 attendees. Our season ended on may 15, 2025 at holst acres with our spring afterglow concert including 24 members singing to an audience of 125 people. We also continued to work on our website and virtual delivery options.”
