Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI

Section b, line 12c: trustees, employees, and certain contributors are informed of what constitutes a conflict of interest. Any questions are first directed to the executive director, then to the trustees or the chairperson. Annually, the board of directors reviews the conflict of interest policy and each member is given the opportunity to report any potential conflict of interest or to verify that they know of no conflicts. Section b, line 15: the executive director's salary is set by another organization. An independent personnel committee reviews and approves the salary and benefits of the executive director. Another entity also pays for two other employee' salaries, although those two employees are not key employees, board members or directors of mission metroplex. These salaries are disclosed. To some oversight agencies (e.g. Evangelical council of financial accountability) as part of their annual review. These salaries are recorded on the mission metroplex books as donated salaries. Mission metroplex does have a process in place to review the performance of the executive director and the effectiveness of the organization as a whole.
