“Following the November meeting of the Chamber Board of Directors, the CEO will present the CEO Review Committee (which is the Chairman, Chairman-elect and Immediate Past Chairman) with a report that outlines the accomplishments and challenges of the previous year. This report will include a review of the mutually agreed upon CEO goals set during the previous year, an assessment of progress towards achieving those goals, and projected goals for the coming year. These goals should be consistent with the Chamber mission and strategic plan. The report will also provide the CEOs assessment of environmental or internal changes that may have aided or impeded the planned progress, as well as needed adjustments going forward.The board assessment will be conducted during a time-period decided upon by the Chairman of the Board, and surveys will be returned to the Chairman by January 15th.Once the CEO Review Committee Assessment is complete and responses compiled by the Chairman-Elect into a composite summary, the Chairman-Elect will present the report to the CEO Review Committee. The purpose will be to discuss the composite summary and receive additional feedback from members about the performance review and goals for the coming year. The Chairman will convene a meeting of the Executive Committee to review the CEOs report, the CEO Review Committees Assessment results, and the CEO goals from the previous year, as well as the CEOs recommended goals for the year going forward.At this meeting the Committee will draft a preliminary review, including the performance assessment and proposing goals for the coming year. Goals should be given priority rating and should be limited in number. This document should be given to the CEO for review along with the composite summary of the Board Assessment. The goals must be consistent with the Chambers mission and strategic plan.The Chairman will meet with the CEO and may include the rest of the CEO Review Committee. The purpose of this meeting is to reach clarity about any issues raised and agreement to the goals and the priorities going forward. A final review should be prepared after this meeting and signed by the Chairman and the CEO.Immediately after the review is complete, the CEO should provide the CEO Review Committee with salary and budget information.The CEO Review Committee will meet to discuss salary or other compensation adjustment(s) by January 31st and recommend the adjustment(s) to the budget committee. This should be delivered to the CEO in writing. If the CEO wishes to discuss the amount of compensation further with the Chairman, a meeting should be scheduled in a timely manner.The CEO Review Committee shall report to the Board of Directors that the performance review was conducted, consistent with this policy.Ongoing Monitoring-The Executive Committee and the CEO should discuss quarterly during the year, as an agenda item on the regularly scheduled Executive Committee meetings, to discuss progress on the goals established during the performance review and make appropriate adjustments based on changing conditions.”
