Annually, directors are required to sign a statement indicating they have not entered into any transactions with an entity that would violate the conflict of interest policy. Directors are required to notify the executive director if a situation exists that might violate the conflict of interest policy.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization is exempt from income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. The organization has been classified as an organization that is not a private foundation under the tax reform act of 1969 and contributions to it qualify for deduction as charitable contributions; accordingly, no provision for taxes has been made in the consolidated financial statements. The organization is liable for any federal income taxes resulting from certain unrelated business income. For fiscal years 2018 and 2017, there was no liability for any federal income tax resulting from unrelated business income. The organization recognizes interest accrued on and penalties related to unrecognized tax benefits in tax expense. During the years ended june 30, 2018 and 2017, the organization recognized no interest and penalties. Based on management's analysis, the organization did not have any uncertain tax positions as of june 30, 2018 and 2017. The organization files income tax returns in the u.s. Federal jurisdiction. There are currently no income tax examinations underway for this jurisdiction. As of june 30, 2018, the organization's tax years 2015 to 2018 remain subject to examination.
