| IRS990/Desc | 0 | The CAC provides a multidisciplinary approach to the intervention, investigation, and prosecution of child abuse. No other agency in the community provides coordination of services for child abuse victims. CAC provides a consistent, non-threatening, developmentally appropriate approach to the forensic interviewing of children. Forensic interviewis allow a child to be interviewed once at which time the investigation team members gather information they need. This prevents repeated interviews by different individuals which can further traumatize a child. A client advocate shares resources with the non-offending caregivers to ensure that the family understands how to keep their children safe following an investigation as well as providing the family with information about community and government assistance available to them. The Center provides crisis intervention, hospital and judicial accompaniment, forensix inverviews, advocacy and therapy to all persons who report abuse, assault or witness domestic violence. Satellite offices are in Andrews and Big Spring TX. |
