“The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors consists of the Chairman of the Board, the Senior Chairman of the Board, the Chairman Emeritus of the Board, the Chairman of the Houston Grand Opera Endowment, Inc., the individual or individuals serving in the Office of the General Director, and the Chairs (but not Vice Chairs or Co-Chairs) of all the Standing Committees of the Board of Directors; provided that, at all times, a majority of the members of the Executive Committee shall be members, or ex officio members, of the Board of Directors. The Executive Committee shall exercise all the powers of the Board of Directors in the management of the business of the Association, including the Association's membership in any subsidiary or affiliated non-profit corporation or the Association's stockholding of any business corporation.”

“Management reviews Form 990 and the Audit Committee and Board of Directors receive a copy before filing with the IRS.”

“At the beginning of each fiscal year, each member of the Board and every officer is provided a copy of the conflict of interest statement to complete. Reminders to complete the form are sent as needed and copies of the statement are provided at Board meetings.”

“The Management Evaluation and Development Committee of the Board of Directors determines the compensation of the CEO. The compensation of the Chief Financial Officer is evaluated annually by the General Director & CEO.”

One of the most respected emerging artist programs in the world, the Butler Studio is distinguished from many other programs in the level of integration between Studio members and mainstage artists and production teams.”
