DescriptionGrantsExpenses
Sustainability Program - CAFE supports workshops on sustainability issues to encourage changes in people's lives that will lead to a more sustainable style of living. Transit Education and Station Planning Program- CAFE has been active in station area planning for the areas around the train depots along the SMART rail and trail line, in particular in Petaluma and Santa Rosa. CAFE promotes transit oriented development and works directly with the public and public agencies to encourage implementing planning concepts of walkable and livable urban environments for the future.Fiscal Sponsored Project= Safe Ag, Safe Schools (SASS): Sonoma Safe Ag, Safe Schools is a coalition of community organizations paving the way for safer land management policies especially around our schools and communities. Working to protect public health and the environment, SASS raises public awareness and provides community education to work toward replacing synthetic pesticides with ecologically sound and socially just alternatives. SASS hosted public workshops and directly talked to landowners regarding pesticide use and dangers. SASS also preformed public research on toxic chemical loads being used by agriculture in Sonoma County, and near the town of Graton, CA.-$33,554
