“Objective of the initiative is to identify criminal actors and organizations that are engaging in pharmaceutical fraud. Analysis is aimed at presenting these targets to private industry for prospective law enforcement action and civil mitigation. Retail (intellectual property rights) project focuses on identifying and reporting instances of intellectual property rights violations pertaining to retail industry partners, specifically identifying fraud utilizing industry logos and products. This includes pirated software distributed via the internet, the use of the software to proliferate malware, auction fraud and the sale of counterfeit merchandise.”
“Cyfin the cyber financial program is dedicated to the financial services industry. Threat actors may seek to steal or siphon funds from accounts and/or compromise the integrity of the global financial infrastructure. The program seeks to develop intelligence on such threats as well as proactive and preventive countermeasures via partnerships with financial institutions in the banking, brokerage, and payment sectors of the financial services industry. Business development business development is the function of the company responsible for identifying, developing and managing relationships with organizations to develop growth opportunities to further the ncfta's mission.”
“The organization accounts for uncertainty in income taxes using a recognition threshold of more-likely-than not to be sustained upon examination by the appropriate taxing authority. Measurement of the tax uncertainty occurs if the recognition threshold is met. Management determined that there were no tax uncertainties that met the recognition threshold in 2016. Ncfta's irs form 990 is subject to review for three years subsequent to the date filed.”

THE PURPOSE OF THIS INITIATIVE IS TO PROVIDE A NEUTRAL FORUM WHEREIN PRIVATE INDUSTRY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT CAN EXCHANGE INFORMATION REGARDING EMERGING AND ONGOING THREATS TO THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY, WHILE UTILIZING THE NCFTA GENERATED TARGET/TREND ASSESSMENTS TO SUPPORT RISK MITIGATION PURSUITS. GIVEN THAT THE UNITED STATES IS CLEARLY A TARGETED MARKET FOR ONLINE PHARMACIES, THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE INITIATIVE IS TO IDENTIFY CRIMINAL ACTORS AND ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE ENGAGING IN PHARMACEUTICAL FRAUD. THIS INCLUDES PIRATED SOFTWARE DISTRIBUTED VIA THE INTERNET, THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE TO PROLIFERATE MALWARE, AUCTION FRAUD AND THE SALE OF COUNTERFEIT MERCHANDISE. |
