“Ibns uses a management company, mvw advantage inc dba society offices, to facilitate the operations of the society including financial operations, website hosting, membership database, graphic design, and administrative support of the governing body and its principle officers. The management company delegates all accounting to an external accountant to review all accounting documentation, record transactions, reconcile the financials, and prepare financial statements to comply with non-profit and tax code rules and regulations.”

“Ibns offers multiple levels of membership including: fellows, regular members, postdoctoral members, student members, affiliate members, sustaining members, and emeritus members.”

“Regular members shall be eligible to hold office in the society and may vote for election of officers and on all matters brought before the general membership. Student members shall be voting members of the society but may not stand for office in the society. Voting members can elect officers for the general council positions of president, vice president, secretary, treasurer or smaller council groups.”

“Regular meetings shall be held annually immediately preceding the meeting of the society. Special meetings of the council may be held at any time or place upon the call of the president or of any three council members. All decisions for the transaction of business rendered by the council must be made as a result of a majority vote either present at the meeting, via phone conference or in writing as affirming the decision.”

“The prepared form 990 is reviewed by the management central office and, at minimum, one principle officer for approval prior to the return filed with the internal revenue service.”
