Coastal Plain Local Emergency Planning Committee Corporation

The organization is established for the primary counties of San Patricio, Aransas, and Refugio in order to develop, train and exercise in the use of hazardous substances emergency response, develop procedures for regulated facilities to provide notification to the local emergency planning committees in accordance with SARA Title III, develop procedures for processing and receiving requests from the publis under the right to know provision of SARA Title III, and provide notification of committee activities and to implement such other related activites as may be legally required.

Coastal Plain Local Emergency Planning Committee was established by San Patricio County and is an organization made up of local emergency response groups, local industry, local school districts, local municipalities for the purpose of sharing pertinent information on hazardous materials and incidents within a 3 county region , San Patricio, Aransas, and Refugio, to mitigate these hazards and to plan for emergency response. The CPLEPC is also the sponsor of an emergency alert system that is available at no charge to anyone in this region.
