EXPLANATION FOR UNCERTAIN TAX POSITIONS UNDER FIN 48: The Corporation is organized as a Texas nonprofit organization. The Corporation intends to operate as exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and has obtained a letter from the Internal Revenue Service that provides tax-exempt status. Thus, no income tax provision has been made in the accompanying financial statements. The Corporation recognizes a tax position in the financial statements when it is more-likely-than-not the position will be sustained upon examination by the tax authorities. Penalties and interest associated with any uncertain tax positions are recorded in the period assessed as a corporate or mortgagor expense. As of June 30, 2021, the Corporation had no uncertain tax positions. IN ADDITION, THE CORPORATION HAS NOT ENGAGED IN ANY ACTIVITIES FOR WHICH ITS TAX-EXEMPT STATUS WOULD NOT BE SUSTAINED UNDER FEDERAL EXAMINATION. As of June 30, 2021, the Corporation is no longer subject to income tax examination by tax authorities for the years prior to June 30, 2018.
