Financial Statement Notes

PART II, LINE 9:

The value of the permanent conservation of the bat habitat at bracken cave is reported on the audited financial statements as an asset in perpetuity.

PART X, LINE 2:

Bci has adopted asc 740-10, accounting for uncertainty in income taxes. That standard prescribes a minimum recognition threshold and measurement methodology that a tax position taken or expected to be taken in a tax return is required to meet before being recognized in financial statements. It also provided guidance for de-recognition, classification, interest and penalties, accounting in interim periods, disclosure, and transition.

IRS990/Desc0BAT CONSERVATION INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS ARE SCIENCE-BASED AND COLLABORATIVE, WORKING WITH CONSERVATION PARTNERS IN THE U.S. AND AROUND THE WORLD TO PROTECT BATS AND THEIR HABITATS BY IDENTIFYING, PROTECTING, AND MANAGING CRITICAL BAT HABITATS AND ADDRESSING BROAD THREATS, LIKE WHITE-NOSE SYNDROME, THAT THREATEN MULTIPLE SPECIES OF BATS. OUR WORK IS FOCUSED ON HIGH-PRIORITY CONSERVATION TARGETS AND BASED ON RIGOROUS SCIENCE AND SHARED DATA. DEVELOPING EFFECTIVE SOLUTIONS TO PROTECT BATS REQUIRES BCI TO DESIGN INNOVATIVE RESEARCH PROGRAMS WHILE MAINTAINING THE ABILITY TO IMPLEMENT SCIENCE-BASED SOLUTIONS ON THE GROUND. BCI ALSO SEEKS TO INCREASE PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION OF THE ESSENTIAL ROLE BATS PLAY IN THE HEALTH OF ECOSYSTEMS AND HUMAN WELL-BEING. BY PROMOTING RESEARCH-LED AND SCIENCE-BASED SOLUTIONS AROUND THE WORLD, BCI COLLABORATES WITH LEADING RESEARCHERS AND SCIENTISTS AROUND THE WORLD AND SUPPORTS GRADUATE STUDENTS THROUGH ITS GRANTING PROGRAMS.
