“The organization's executive director, board president, and finance committee chair review the 990 for completeness and accuracy prior to filing. In addition, the board of directors is provided a copy of the 990 prior to filing and are given an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback. The executive committee formally votes on whether or not to approve the 990 for filing.”

If an employee who has a potential conflict of interest is requested by the organization to provide a good or perform a service, competetive bids will be sought. “During 2016, community shares utah worked to establish and maintain workplace giving campaigns with employers in utah. The organization promotes positive change through coordinating these ongoing payroll contributions. Employees of participating workplaces can direct their donations toward a variety of nonprofits in utah. The organization continued to work toward increasing its number of workplace giving campaigns and member agencies. The organization also worked with community shares/usa and other organizations to identify and share tools to improve organizational efficiency and strategy with member agencies. The organization provided learning activities for member agencies to improve organizational efficiency.”
