“To support our mission, the texas wildlife association: 1. Disseminates informative and educational material on wildlife, legislative issues, regulatory matters, scientific findings, management techniques and member news through a monthly magazine, texas wildlife, and through special mailings, electronic media, exhibits, and productions. 2. Cooperates with our friends at the texas wildlife association foundation, inc to encourage the participation of all ages in outdoor education, hunting, fishing and wildlife-oriented activities through organized youth hunts, ecology camps, 4-h enrichment programs, school-based programs and trainings, field trips, and other related educational programs. 3. Administers the texas youth hunting program (in conjunction with the texas parks and wildlife department and other groups) to educate and mentor texas' youth in our hunting heritage. 4. Maintains a permanent legislative liaison and engages in proceedings of the state and national legislatures and their committees, of the texas parks and wildlife department, and other state and federal agencies on matters affecting the interests of our members, and testifies whenever applicable in support of these interests. 5) serves as an information source on texas wildlife, habitat management, and hunting for in-and-out-of-state journalists, hunters, wildlife managers and the general public. Cooperates with our partners at the texas hunting directory to publicize hunting opportunities and recommends hunting lease liability insurance for members. 6) maintains a full-time office of professional, experienced, responsible and dedicated paid staff. 7) sponsors and coordinates conferences and field days on specific topics of member interest, provides speakers and programs for special events and other organizations, and hosts a technical symposium at the annual general membership meeting. 8) co-sponsors (with the texas parks and wildlife department) the popular texas big game awards program, which honors successful hunters and recognizes achievements by habitat managers and landowners. The tbga youth division recognizes young hunters every year they are successful. The tbga also welcomes "first-timers" into the fraternity of ethical hunters, and promotes the multi-billion dollar hunting industry in our state. 9) administers conservation legacy: twa's land stewardship and conservation leadership programs to include youth conservation education initiatives; outdoor skills trainings, wildlife management workshops and symposium; and twa's conservation cooperatives and initiatives.”
