“Our mission is to promote the conservation of habitat for birds, other wildlife, and people; support national audubon societys efforts; and encourage responsible local action through education, research, and advocacy.”

“Climate watch program : bexar audubon worked to support the national audubon climate watch project in both the winter and summer survey periods in 2024. As the local coordinator, patsy inglet recruited, trained, and organized a group of more than 50 volunteers to survey 60 squares in the bexar audubon 10-county area in both seasons. The data was collected using ebird and submitted to national audubon climate watch through their data portal. Education: on the 4th wednesday of every month (except december) bas hosts a monthly meeting that is held in person and via zoom. We feature speakers, both local and remote via zoom, on topics of interest to birders and those in the general public interested in nature. Approximately 700 people benefited from these events in 2024-25. Birding for a purpose : bexar audubon conducted 48 bird surveys that engaged 366 volunteers who amassed almost 1,000 volunteer hours for the year across more than 1000 acres. Community events: bas participates in community events in our 10-country region as much as possible. These events are to generate support for conservation in general to people of all ages and from all communities. Our message: everyone can learn how to be more bird friendly where they live. More than 800 people were reached in this way in 2024-25”
