“The organizations Form 990 is reviewed by the Finance Committee prior to submitting the tax return to the full Board for their review. The Form 990 is signed and filed subsequent to the boards approval.”

“The organizations conflict of interest policy is outlined in, and a complement to, the organizations bylaws. Board Members and key employees are required to disclose, in writing, conflicts of interest as defined by the policy.”

“The organization has access to a city-wide survey of non-profit employment data gathered by the San Antonio Area Foundation. The organization uses this employment information to establish job descriptions for the Executive Director and other key employees and to establish their respective annual pay rates and benefit allowances.”

“The organizations financial statements, Form 990 organizational documents and other conflict of interest policy are made available to the organizations Board of Directors, members of the organizations church council, and to the general public upon request.”

“Christian Assistance Ministry or CAM provides immediate assistance and encouragement to people in crisis. This is done by serving housed individuals and unhoused individuals by providing for basic needs such as food, clothing and financial assistance. CAM was able to help 80,000 duplicated clients through a variety of safety net services. All clients are eligible to receive help with clothing every 30 days, referral to other agencies, and financial assistance once annually for each of these type of needs i.e. ID recovery, prescription assistance and Utility bill payment. For individuals with a home and place to cook groceries can also be made available every 30 days based on family size. For people experiencing homelessness a daily sack lunch and showers are provided 6 days a week. In addition, a free mailbox, and the support of street outreach workers that help them overcome barriers to accessing services to enable them to get off the streets into housing, shelter, family reunification, and or rehab. This is individually funded with very little government support allowing for immediacy in service and little red tape. In addition the services are led by love, compassion, dignity and hope. CAM acts much like an emergency room of social services requiring no appointments and meeting peoples most urgent needs while then getting them connected to long term supports.”
