In 2015, a series of Professional development workshops reached influential filmmakers and professionals. Every month we hold these workshops and lectures and they provide hands-on or informational classes, taught by industry professionals, target developing filmmakers of all ages.Business of Film annual conference provides information on best business practices for filmmakers. In September, "The Business Of Film Conference" reached the core professionals in the film community, including writers, directors actors and technicians, for training and planning a more sound execution of their arts production projects.Media Artist Residencies: Filmmakers teach digital video production and media literacy skills to youth in schools and community venues. Summer Teen Digital Video Camps: Weeklong intensive classes cover screenwriting, production, and post-production elements for ages 13-17.Screenings: Films are screened in collaboration with a variety of venues including the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. Filmmakers are in attendance to introduce their FIlm and lead audience discussion. Salons: Provides a monthly networking opportunity for aspiring and professional filmmakers alike. Both filmmakers and film enthusiasts attest to the importance of this core program that provides stability and a forum for collaboration. Every session discusses, with a brief program, a topic that is current and essential for keeping the film culture strong. THE TERRITORY, a 13-part, 30-minute series showcase of short films by Texas, national, and international filmmakers, is broadcast on Texas PBS stations. The Territory is one of the longest running series of its kind on public television. THE TERRITORY introduces the general public and filmmakers alike to the art of the short film by presenting high quality work that expresses creative ideas and diverse points-of-view. THE TERRITORY is a unique collaboration between a media arts organization (SWAMP), a public television station (Houston PBS), and two art museums (Austin Museum of Art and Museum of Fine Arts Houston).
