Mending hearts, inc. Expects our board members to conduct business according to the highest ethical standards of conduct. Board members are expected to devote their best efforts to the interests of mending hearts, inc .. Business dealings that appear to create a conflict between the interests of mending hearts, inc. And a board member are unacceptable. Mending hearts, inc. Recognizes the right of board members to engage in activities outside of their service to mending hearts, inc. Which are of a private nature and unrelated to our business. However, the board member must disclose any possible conflicts so that mending hearts, inc. May assess and prevent potential conflicts of interest from arising. A potential or actual conflict of interest occurs whenever a board member is in a position to influence a decision that may result in a personal gain for the board member or an immediate family member (i.e., spouse or significant other, children, parents, siblings) as a result of mending hearts, inc.'s business dealings. A board member must promptly disclose actual or potential conflicts of interest, in writing, to the executive director or the board chairperson.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Below is an excerpt from footnote 1 of the audited financial statements for mending hearts, inc. The organization is exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and classified by the internal revenue service as other than a private foundation. Accordingly, no provision for income taxes has been made in the accompanying financial statements. The organization follows fasb asc guidance related to unrecognized tax benefits. The guidance clarifies the accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in an organization's financial statements. This guidance prescribes a minimum probability threshold that a tax position must meet before a financial statement benefit is recognized. The minimum threshold is defined as a tax position that is more likely than not to be sustained upon examination by the applicable taxing authority, including resolution of any related appeals or litigation processes, based on the technical merits of the position. The tax benefit to be recognized is measured as the largest amount of benefit that is greater than 50% likely of being realized upon ultimate settlement. There are currently no examinations pending or in progress. The organization has no tax penalties or interest reported in the accompanying financial statements.

THIS TREATMENT PROGRAM ENABLES CLIENTS TO CONTINUE WITH THEIR NORMAL DAY-TO-DAY LIVES IN A WAY THAT RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT PROGRAMS DO NOT. (SCH. O)WE HAVE A PEER SUPPORT COMMUNITY WITH RECOVERY HOUSING WHICH PROVIDES A SAFE AND SECURE LIVING ENVIRONMENT WHERE EVERY RESIDENT IS A ROLE MODEL FOR THE RESIDENTS ENTERING THE PROGRAM AFTER THEM. RESIDENTS ENTERING THE PROGRAM ARE INTRODUCED TO A CULTURE OF ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR PEERS. GROUPS AND CLASSES CONSIST OF: EVIDENCED BASED SELF-CARE, SELF-ESTEEM, GED/COMPUTER/RESUME CLASSES, CAMPUS NA/AA MEETINGS, FINANCIAL PLANNING, CRIMINAL THINKING GROUP, AND RE-ENTRY PROGRAM. DURING THIS PHASE, WOMEN ARE WORKING, SAVING MONEY, AND REPAIRING/BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH THEIR CHILDREN AND FAMILY. A CASE MANAGER WILL BE ASSIGNED TO EACH RESIDENT TO ADDRESS INDIVIDUAL NEEDS TO ENHANCE ACCESS TO COMMUNITY RESOURCES.
