There was an increase in the annual rental to $360 beginning in 2008.The Commission's goal is to restore the school building. Funding is largely raised through the State of Mississippi from an automobile tag program. The Commission hopes to purchase the land and building from the Coahoma County Board of Education and make it a museum.
