“Due to the discovery of probable embezzlement by our former long-term treasurer,richard j.cole,sr,and the subsequent information release to the calcasieu parish district attorney and their forensic accounting investigation,the by-laws were amended to ban any member from holding the office of treasurer for more than 2 years at a time. Other small changes were made to the number of board members needed. The amended bylaws process was begun in the 2020 year and finalized in the 2021 year. We do not currently have access to the forensic accounting. The club filed a civil suit against him on december 12,2022,and his pre-trial conference was on january 16,2023,but a trail date has not been set.”
