The junior league of new orleans is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. The junior league of new orleans is committed to advancing the wellbeing of local women through the use of trained volunteers that provide direct service, educate the community, and advocate for issues that affect women. The organization's projects, programs, and partnerships relate to the areas of women's health and wellness, education, entrepreneurship and professional development, leadership development, and caregiver support. The organization's work, both in fund development and service, seeks to heighten women's participation in the community and address those issues uniquely facing women. Through jlno membership, over 800 energetic individuals are trained to be effective volunteers and civic leaders.
