The mission of bridges of hope is to build bridges of support, anchored in christ's love, between families in the lakes area and the community assets that can help them thrive and gain hope. Though the organization is founded on religious principles, the services to households are always provided without reference to or expectation of any stated belief. Bridges of hope partnerships with the community to strengthen, stabilize and support families, sending a message of hope and empowering families to thrive. Bridges of hope serves anyone who contacts us within crow wing county and the surrounding communities in central minnesota. Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 8B

Only the full board can take action.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

Each member of the board of directors is emailed an electronic copy of the completed irs form 990 in its entirety, along with its associated schedules, prior to filing the form.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

It is the policy of the organization to annually request from all board members and employees a list of any interest that could give rise to conflicts. This list is monitored by both the board chair and executive director. Potential conflicts are also reviewed by the board chair and executive director. Any board members or employees found to have a conflict of interest in a given transaction are prohibited from participating in deliberations and decisions about that transaction.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15A

Compensation of the organization's executive director and other key employees is determined on an annual basis. A review of performance is completed by the employee's immediate supervisor or the board chair, a recommendation is made to the board of directors, and compensation of all employees is determined by the board of directors through approval of the organizational budget. The board of directors also reviews salary and wage ranges every 2-3 years through reviewing comparative data from other nonprofit organizations, both statewide and locally. The board discusses at a board meeting while the director steps out. Process was last completed in 2022.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

The organization makes its governing documents and conflict of interest policies available to the public by providing copies upon request and by providing opportunity for inspection at its offices. The organization makes its financial statements available through the means just described, as well as by posting them on the organization's website and another website (guidestar.org).

FORM 990, PART VI, SECTION A, LINE 8B:

The board of directors may, by unanimous affirmative vote of the entire board, designate two or more of their members to constitute an executive committee, which to the extent determined by the unanimous affirmative action of the entire board, shall have and exercise the authority of the board in the management of the business of the corporation. Any such executive committee shall act only in the interval between meetings of the board, and shall be subject at all times to the control and discretion of the board. Ideally, the executive committee should consist of the following persons: chairperson, vice-chairperson, secretary and treasurer.

Form 990, Part III, Line 1

Whatever the crisis may be - by assessing their needs and strengths and working creatively and collaboratively to assist them with interventions that can help them move beyond it. Bridges of hope does not set income or asset limits as part of our eligibility; our expertise is in helping a household access the existing resources they qualify for and in seeking creative solutions for those who are not eligible for more traditional services (such as county social services). Our resources and services programming goals are to prevent child abuse, maltreatment and neglect; reduce isolation; increase family stability; and promote stronger, healthier families.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization is not a private foundation and contributions to the organization qualify as a charitable tax deduction by the contributor. The organization files as a tax-exempt organization. Should that status be challenged in the future, all years since inception would be subject to review by the internal revenue service.

IRS990/MissionDesc0BRIDGES OF HOPE WAS FOUNDED IN 2002 AS A 501C3 FAITH-BASED NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION. EVERY PERSON WHO REACHES OUT FOR HELP IS FACING A UNIQUE CHALLENGE; AND UNLIKE TRADITIONAL HUMAN SERVICE AGENCIES THAT TYPICALLY FOCUS ON A SINGLE TYPE OF SERVICE (HOUSING, COUNSELING, HEALTH, ETC.), BRIDGES OF HOPE INSTEAD FOCUSES ON ASSISTING A HOUSEHOLD IN CRISIS -
