“The organization was granted a look-alike health center designation on november 1, 2019. This designation will allow the organization to expand its' primary healthcare services once operational in 2020. New bylaws were adopted on july 24, 2019 in order to be in compliance with the look-alike health center regulations. Signicant changes are as follows: (a)goals - added "provide quality, comprehensive preventive and primary healthcare to the target populations of northeast louisiana, with emphasis on the low-income and uninsured population at or below 200% of the federal poverty guideline, and further focusing attention on the lgbtq community and persons living with hiv and aids special population." (b)goals - also added "increase the share of the general population receiving preventive screenings, check-ups, and patient counseling to prevent illnesses, disease, and other health problems or to detect illness at an early state when treatment is likely to work best." (c)board - changed number of required board members from not less than five members nor more than fifteen member to not less than nine members nor more than fifteen members. (d)board - added "the majority of this corporation's board members shall be comprised of at least fifty-one percent clients/patients served by go care. These go care board members, as a group, represent in general, individuals who are served by go care in terms of demographic factors such as race, ethnicity, and gender." (e)board - added "non-patient board members shall be representative of the lgbtq community and general community at large served by go care and shall be selected for their expertise in relevant subject matters, such as community affairs, education, local government, finance and banking, legal affairs, trade unions, and other commercial and industrial concerns, or social service agencies within the community." (f)board - added "of the non-patient board members, no more than one-half shall derive more than ten percent of their annual income from the healthcare industry." (g)board - added "a board member shall not be an employee of go care, or spouse or child, parent, brother, sister by blood or marriage of such an employee. The ceo may be a non-voting, ex-officio board member." (h)board - changed to "vacancies in the board may be filled by appointment of the board president with approval by a two-thirds majority of the board of directors" from "vancancies in the board may be filled by appointment of the present with the approval by the board of directors". (i)meetings - changed from "regular meetings of the board of directors shall be held at least every other month" to "regular meetings of the board of directors shall be held on a monthly basis". “Go care is exempt from income tax under section 501 (c)(3) of the internal revenue code but must file an annual return with the internal revenue service that contains information on its financial operations. Go care is required to review various tax positions it has taken with respect to its exempt status and determine whether in fact it continues to qualify as a tax exempt entity. It must also consider whether it has nexus in jurisdictions in which it has income and whether a tax return is required in those jurisdictions. In addition, as a tax exempt entity, go care must assess whether it has any tax positions associated with unrelated business income subject to income tax. Go care does not expect any of these tax positions to change significantly over the next twelve months. Any penalties related to late filing or other requirements would be recognized as penalties expense in go care's accounting records. Go care is required to file u.s. Federal form 990 for informational purposes. Its federal income tax returns for the tax years 2016 and beyond remain subject to examination by the internal revenue service.”

DURING 2015 THE ORGANIZATION OPENED A MEDICAL CLINIC STAFFED BY LICENSED MEDICAL PERSONNEL OFFERING COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CARE SERVICES TO PERSONS WITH HIV INCLUDING MEDICAL ASSESSMENT AND ON-GOING CARE, MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES AND HIV COUNSELING AND TESTING. DURING 2018 THE ORGANIZATION ALSO BEGAN OFFERING HEALTHCARE AND SUPPORTING SERVICES FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE LGBTQ IN ADDITION TO PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV.UNDER THE 340B MEDICATION PROGRAM PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS ARE PURCHASED AND HELD BY AN APPROVED AGENT UNTIL DISTRIBUTION UPON RECEIPT OF A VALID DOCTOR'S PRESCRIPTION. THIS DESIGNATION WILL ALLOW THE ORGANIZATION TO EXPAND PRIMARY CARE SERVICES AND RECEIVE INCREASED MEDICARE AND MEDICAID REIMBURSEMENTS. (B)GOALS - ALSO ADDED "INCREASE THE SHARE OF THE GENERAL POPULATION RECEIVING PREVENTIVE SCREENINGS, CHECK-UPS, AND PATIENT COUNSELING TO PREVENT ILLNESSES, DISEASE, AND OTHER HEALTH PROBLEMS OR TO DETECT ILLNESS AT AN EARLY STATE WHEN TREATMENT IS LIKELY TO WORK BEST."
