Governance Explanations

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 11B

Each member of the executive committtee is given a draft copy of the form 990 for review and approval.

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 15A

The chairman of baton rouge crime stoppers along with three or four other board of directors met to discuss hiring an executive director for the program. They wanted to hire someone that had knowledge of how the crime stoppers program worked as well as a good working knowledge in law enforcement. There are two factors that determine the compensation of the executive director that is how much could the program reasonable afford and there would be no additional expenses, such as office and equipment. It was also decided that the executive director would pay self-employment taxes. The current salary is based upon this criteria.

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 19

All board of director meetings are officially posted outside the meeting room. The financial statements are made available upon request.

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0CRIME STOPPERS FOCUSES ON VIOLENT CRIMES IN EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH THROUGH A COMPREHENSIVE MEDIA CAMPAIGN AND OFFERS ITS RESOURCES OF 7/24 TIP LINE TO REPORT CRIMINAL ACTIVITY ALONG WITH OFFERING OF CASH REWARDS.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt1EACH MEMBER OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTTEE IS GIVEN A DRAFT COPY OF THE FORM 990 FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt2THE CHAIRMAN OF BATON ROUGE CRIME STOPPERS ALONG WITH THREE OR FOUR OTHER BOARD OF DIRECTORS MET TO DISCUSS HIRING AN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR THE PROGRAM.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt3ALL BOARD OF DIRECTOR MEETINGS ARE OFFICIALLY POSTED OUTSIDE THE MEETING ROOM. THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS ARE MADE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.
