“This organization represents its members as follows:professional member: individuals who hold a masters degree or higher in counseling or a closely related field from a college or university that was accredited when the degree was awarded by one of the regional accrediting bodies.regular member: persons whose interests and activities are consistent with those of lca but are not qualified for professional membership.retired member: individuals who have previously been professional members but are now retired from the counseling profession.student member: individuals who are enrolled at least half time as degree seeking students in a counseling program in a regionally accredited institution. Counselor intern members: individuals who are registered with the lpc board and is under supervision and has not received licensure.all these members who are in good standing have the right to vote each year on the president elect/elect who will serve the following year as an officer of the board and they also have the right to vote on structural changes of the organization by voting on any changes to the organizations bylaws.each person elected president elect/elect will serve a total of four years with the organization. The positions that they will hold will be president elect/elect, president elect, president and past president.”
