The staff is composed of over 200 professionals, ranging from donation center medical staff, technicians who test and process blood, community outreach staff, and administrators who all work together to maintain a healthy blood supply. As the vital intermediary between donors and patients, the blood center is tasked with the critical service of educating the community about the great need for blood donations. In addition to providing easy-to-access donation facilities and offering mobile blood drives, the blood center organizes various educational outreach and donor programs, as well as promotional events in order to recruit enough donors to maintain the blood supply. The most significant accomplishment the blood center makes each day is helping to save lives in our community. The blood center serves anyone who needs blood or blood products in south louisiana and southern mississippi, as well as anyone who wishes to make the gift of life by being a blood donor.”

“Accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america provide accounting and disclosure guidance about positions taken by an entity in its tax returns that might be uncertain. The organization believes that they have appropriate support for any tax positions taken, and as such, do not have any uncertain tax positions that are material to the combined financial statements. Penalties and interest assessed by income taxing authorities, if any, would be included in non-operating expense. No such charges were incurred in the years ended december 31, 2024 and 2023, respectively.”
