“Christopher homes has one class of membership and the membership of the corporation shall consist of the archbishop or administrator of the archdiocese of new orleans, who shall ex-officio be a member of the corporation. He shall have the right to name and remove at any time, and at his sole option, up to three additional members. In the event that a member resigns or dies or ceases to be a member for any reason, then he shall be replaced at the option and by the appointee of the archbishop or administrator of the archdiocese of new orleans. “The corporation is a not-for-profit organization that is exempt from taxes on income other than unrelated business income under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. The corporation had no unrelated business income for the years ended june 30, 2016 and 2015. Management believes that all tax positions would be sustained if audited. There were no penalties or interest on income taxes incurred in 2016 or 2015 related to its tax positions, but, if incurred, they would be classified in the statement of activities as a general administrative expense. The corporation's tax filings for years back to the year ended june 30, 2012 are currently open to audit under statute of limitations by the internal revenue service.”
