| Community engagement through our Thrift Store continues to grow. As Cache Countys population increases, more first-time visitors are discovering the store and choosing to donate building materials. Early on, we often needed to dispatch a truck and laborers to pick up donations; today, more donors drop items off directly. These convenient drop-offs reduce the need for scheduled pickups, saving transportation and labor costsresources that can be redirected to critical repairs and direct support for low-income homeowners. Our Thrift Store remains a cornerstone of this work and one of the most visible ways the community makes an impact. The store specializes in donated construction materialsthe kinds of items you would find at Lowes or Home Depot. The store is open to the public, and every dollar stays local to support our nonprofit programs. Just as importantly, it provides affordable materials for residents and helps keep usable items out of our local landfill. It also allows us to stretch donations further by sourcing project supplies directly from inventoryfor example, the window installed in a familys home was a new donated window that had been in the store for several months. Thanks to supporters like you, donations become safer homes, stronger neighborhoods, and a more resilient community. | - | $95,935 |
| The most meaningful outcome of this transition has been the number of neighbors we are now able to serve through our critical home repairs that protect health and safety, preserve housing stability, and strengthen the community. Using the same qualification model established by Habitat for Humanity, we can focus on resources where they are needed most. For example, we completed a complex roof repair on a mobile home just in time for winter. After years of leaks, extensive water damage had affected walls and floors, and in some areas, the subfloor had worn away to the point that it felt unsafe to walk on. The work required removing and replacing rusted sections, reinforcing trusses and wall connections with new braces and beams, adding insulation, and sealing the roof with a welded membrane. Heating remains one of the most urgent needs we see; furnace repairs and replacements are often the single most sought-after improvement for a familys safety and comfort. We also help homeowners protect and preserve older housing. Such as an 1890s home where damaged exterior siding had to be repaired and replaced before applying a high-quality exterior paint system to prevent further deterioration. There are occasions when I have helped a family with utility bills. Even though this is outside our stated mission, I feel a strong compulsion to help in these situations. There are several other non-profit groups that offer utility assistance, but they dont always have enough for everyone. I have used our funds only as a last resort. It wasnt long ago that I needed assistance with a power bill. The feeling of having your house go dark leaves a lasting impression. | - | $35,400 |
| Nearly five years ago, our organization transitioned from a Habitat for Humanity affiliate to a Fuller Center for Housing covenant partner. The results have been overwhelmingly positive for our community, strengthening our ability to respond quickly to local needs and helping more neighbors remain safely housed. While Habitats name is better known nationally, the Fuller Center partnership is making a meaningful difference locally. | - | - |
