“The organization has a committee that oversees the audit of its financial statements. This committee also oversees the selection of the independent accountant. This process has not changed from the previous year.”

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

“Income taxes the chamber is exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(6) of the internal revenue code and therefore has made no provision for federal income taxes in the accompanying financial statements. Accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america require management to evaluate tax positions taken by the chamber and recognize a tax liability (or asset) if the chamber has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by the internal revenue service. The chamber has analyzed all tax positions and does not feel any meet the requirements for reporting under the standard. The chamber is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress. In addition, the chamber has been determined by the internal revenue service not to be a "private foundation" within the meaning of section 509(a) of the internal revenue code. There was no unrelated business income for the years ended september 30, 2024 and 2023.”
