Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Gaap prescribes a recognition threshold and measurement attribute for financial statement recognition and measurement of a tax position taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. For those benefits to be recognized, a tax position must be more-likely-than-not to be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. For the year ended december 31, 2015, the organization has determined that it has not taken any tax positions which would result in an uncertainty requiring recognition in the accompanying financial statements.

MANY COMMUNITY-BASED AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE NEEDS OF THE YOUTH THEY SERVE, BUT STRUGGLE TO FIND ADEQUATE STAFFING. IN THE PAST 10 YEARS, THE ORGANIZATION HAS PLACED OVER 500 FULL-TIME INTERNS IN HUNDREDS OF CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES. THE ORGANIZATION RECENTLY CHOSE TO END THEIR 9-YEAR PARTNERSHIP WITH AMERICORPS (CALLED TECHMISSION CORPS). THE ORGANIZATION DEVELOPED CITY VISION INTERNSHIPS BASED ON THE AMERICORPS MODEL, BUT WITHOUT AMERICORPS FUNDS, TO INCREASE THEIR ABILITY TO INNOVATE AND EXPAND TO SERVE MORE ORGANIZATIONS. IN 2015, CITY VISION INTERNSHIPS PLACED 44 FULL-TIME INTERNS IN MINISTRIES SERVING 1,742 AT-RISK YOUTH.
