Restoration program - aqua team during the september 2011 to june 2012 period, 741 students in twenty-seven classes at eight alameda county and contra costa county middle and high schools participated in the eco-stewards program. Thirteen students from richmond high school participated in the aqua team program. Outcomes achieved during this period include: 2,071 of community work hours completed by students 700 pounds of trash removed from bay and riparian shorelines rapid trash assessments conducted along 150 feet of riparian shoreline 1,660 square feet of riparian and upland habitat mulched 250 square feet of erosion control blankets installed in the redwood understory 50 cubic yards of invasive plants removed vegetation monitoring conducted along 300 points at two restoration sites 734 native plants installed 60 feet of bender board installed to make a pathway 2,000 nursery containers washed for reuse students conducted water quality testing in their local creeks to measure levels of phosphates, dissolved oxygen, and ph. Eco-stewards students learned about local watershed issues, explored their natural environments, and were empowered to improve the environmental degradations of local watersheds.

Activity 3

Multimedia - green screen program 20 students from 12 different schools were trained in video production and contributed to the creation of numerous screen videos that were posted in our greenscreen you tube channel .
