“The introduction to operations, maintenance, and monitoring (om&m) program covers a broad range of issues confronting om&m service providers. Lecture, slide shows and questions and answers will discuss the importance of om&m; business and ethics, safety, wastewater math and analysis, and site assessment. Participants are exposed to various technologies, including tanks, pumps, system controls, pressure dosing, media filters, aerobic treatment units, drip dispersal and disinfection. The discussion of each of the technologies or components is directed by a series of detailed operational checklists used in day 2 of the certification program.”
“A two day soils/hydrology course that begins with insight into cowa's look to the future. Then the course moves into discussion on soil hydrogeology and its relationship to groundwater before exploring topics including: soil geomorphology, color, texture, structure, horizons and site evaluation. Participants will learn the components that compose a profesional soil profile description and will gain an understanding of the important role the soils play in the operation of all types of onsite wastewater systems. A valuable field component engages particpants in site layout, open trench profiling, and the opportunity to practice the evaluation of soil characteristics in various test pits under the supervision of the trainers.”
