“Annually at our fall board meeting we have all members review and sign the conflict of interest policy.”

“The board's personnel committee has selected a target pay range for the Executive Director position based on salaries paid for similar positions in similar organizations. Salaries for other positions have been reviewed by the board and the Executive Director by comparing them to similar positions in other Northern California nonprofit organizations.”

“All policies, governing documents, and financial statements are distributed to the board at our quarterly board meetings. Financial statements are also distributed to the board monthly and are reviewed via finance committee teleconferences. Any revisions to policies or documents are approved by the board and redistributed. Our annual audit (in years where one takes place) and IRS 990 are available on our website at SierraServiceProject.org/Financial-Information. All documents can be made available upon request.”

“Due to COVID-19 we were unable to run our regular in-person summer program at all, and we had to stop running in-person Days of Service, Weekends of Service, and Alternative Break programs. As a replacement, we ran an online summer program, but instead of doing home repair projects, we shifted our focus to building community, developing personal faith journeys, growing cultural humility, and instilling an ethic of service in our volunteers.”

“These expenses are a combination of general program costs, which are not able to be broken out into the different program categories, as well as a smaller program we run called Leadership Academy.”
