Mission

The Calaveras Visitors Bureau (CVB) was incorporated April 28, 2000, under the laws of the State of California originally as a nonprofit public benefit corporation under Section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code. The organization had formerly been organized as an unincorporated nonprofit public benefit association on August 1, 1988, under the name Calaveras County Lodging Association, doing business as Calaveras Visitors Bureau. The specific purpose of CVB is to promote and increase tourism in Calaveras County by increasing awareness of the area's resources, cultural entertainment, and recreational opportunities. CVB serves as liaison with the City, County, and State governments on behalf of the tourism industry in Calaveras County. CVB also provides education in matters relating to the tourism industry to listing and non-listing partners.Effective upon recordation of an Amended Articles of Incorporation, CVB will switch from a Public Benefit Corporation nonprofit entity to a Mutu

Amended Explanation

“This return is being amended to correct:1. The accrued amount of transient occupancy tax income recognized in accordance with the calaveras county board of supervisors approved budgets. In the original return no transient occupancy tax was recorded as receivable from the county as of june 30, 2015 and 2014, however it was later determined that the county had committed to remit one third of its transient occupancy tax collected during the last three months of each respective fiscal year to the organization in the beginning of the next fiscal year. This return correctly reports the accrued income and receivables from the county in the amounts of $22,121 and $19,139 for the years ended june 30, 2015 and 2014, respectively.2. The timing of recognition of the cost to design and build the organization's california state fair display booth. The original 2014 return recognized the $10,000 cost as a prepaid asset at june 30, 2015 but not at june 30, 2014. This amended return correctly reports the $10,000 expense in the period in which the payment was due to the vendor.3. Bylaw change attached”
