The snmmipr established and maintains an organization of physicians, technologists and scientists with the shared interest of participating actively in developing the use of radionuclides in medical practice and research; address any socioeconomic and government issues that may significantly affect the quality of education, research, and clinical practice in nuclear medicine; promote an understanding of nuclear medicine for the benefit of patients, colleagues and the general public; promote scientific research and actively participate in any program or project that uses radionuclides; engage in activities and programs with local, national or international associations having related purposes, and actively participate in nuclear medicine education efforts; and the society members agree to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics in the performance of their duties.”
