“To promote the conservation and wise use of us virgin islands' natural resources by providing a vehicle for local conservation related organizations to build capacity to work together on common territory challenges and opportunities. To cooperate with public and private organizations with similar purposes to inform the public of the value of conservation and to offer services to protect natural resources through member services, program development, training, leadership development, public education, and government relations.”

“Public education and environmental advocacy - vics strives to be a common voice for those committed to the belief that the usvi natural resources must be used in accordance with the needs of the people of the territory while maintaining a quality environment and a productive economy. To this end the organization has also enacted a community engagement program, plastic recycling saturday, in which volunteers collect and sort household plastic from the community for recycling to reduce amounts sent to the landfill. Additionally, an environmental education program has also be enacted, vi clean coast, which in collaboration with the vi department of planning and natural resources, encourages businesses to take a proactive approach to "greening" their business practices by offering mini grants and incentives for implementing changes leading to the elimination of single-use plastics in business.”
