“Nominations are accepted thru the nominating committee. The committee presents a slate of officers at a general (parent) meeting and additional nominations are taken from the floor. If there are multiple candidates from the floor, voting is held by ballot.”

“The form 990 is submitted to the board of director's treasurer for her review, discussion, and approval.”

“Returns are held by the treasurer and are available upon request.”

“To stimulate student, parent and community interest and participation in the newsome high school band program. To promote music education, enhance the educational experience of band participants, contribute to the advancement and needs of the band programs, encourage growth and achievement for all students participating in band programs and lend support to the director of bands.”

“The volunteers are primarily students (120) and their parents (100). They volunteer their time to run band events and help raise money for various band expenses and events the band attends during the fiscal year.”

“The newsome band boosters was organized to support the high school students who are members of the band and colorguard. The boosters raise funds to purchase equipment, maintain uniforms and repair/replace instruments needed for the band's marching, concert, winterguard and indoor percussion seasons. Some of their accomplishments during the 2023/2024 fiscal year included: volunteer/community work: ========================= december: drumline played at community holiday parade april: drumline participated in military clap out at local elementary school for month of the military child celebration. Marching band accomplishments: ============================== fmbc regional competition, durant hs (class 5a) score: 72.8, 2nd place 5a, 1st in music, percussion, colorguard boa regional competition, orlando fl (class 4a) score: 67.025, 9th place 4a, 24th out of 30 overall bands fba marching mpas, gaither hs straight superiors in music, visual, general effect, auxiliary, and percussion fmbc state championships, clearwater fl (class 5a) score: 82.300, 7th place 4a preliminaries winterguard accomplishments: ============================ ffcc colorguard plant city fl jv score: 55.98 varsity score: 69.69 ffcc winterguard championships daytona beach fl jv score: 66.30 varsity score: 80.60 wgi colorguard world championships varsity team attended and competed in the preliminary round indoor percussion accomplishments: ================================== ffcc premiere north and central (perc/winds) (independent open class) score: 66.600, 3rd place overall in class, 2nd place in effect - visual and overall visual categories ffcc oviedo hs show (independent open class) score: 71.600, 1st place in class wgi orlando percussion & winds regional competition (independent open class) score: 75.200, 3rd place overall in class, 2nd place in effect - visual category ffcc percussion state championships (independent open class) score: 80, 3rd place in class wgi percussion world championships (independent open class) score: 81.588, preliminary round concert / jazz band accomplishments: ==================================== jazz band mpa: 2 excellents and 1 superior ratings symphonic band mpa: overall superior rating (2 superior and 1 excellent) wind symphony mpa: straight superior ratings -- first concert band superior in 4 years and first double superior (both concert bands receiving superior ratings) in nearly a decade and only the 3rd time in newsome history. 5 events at state solo and ensemble: 2 superiors with distinction, 3 superiors”
