THIS ORGANIZATION IS MAINLY AN EDUCATIONAL FORUM BRINGING INFORMATION TO MEMBERS PAYING DUES TO HELP RUN THEIR ORGANIZATIONS LEGALLY AND EFFECTIVELY. OUR INDUSTRY IS PLAGUED BY INDIVIDUALS (GYPSY OPERATIONS) WHO FAIL TO PROVIDE "FOR HIRE" INSURANCE ON THEIR VEHICLES AND WHO FAIL TO REGISTER THEIR VEHICLES AND DRIVERS WITH THE APPROPRIATE LOCAL JURISICTIONS. THESE OPERATIONS GIVE OUR INDUSTRY A BAD NAME AND ENDANGER THE SAFETY OF THE RIDING PUBLIC. THE GOAL OF THE F.L.A IS TO HAVE MEMBER COMPANIES IN EVERY COUNTY IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA. THESE LOCAL OPERATIONS ARRANGE MEETINGS AND DISCUSSIONS WITH THE LOCAL OFFICIALS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE F.L.A. TO HELP EDUCATE THESE LOCAL OFFICIALS ABOUT THE DANGERS THESE UNREGULATED OPERATIONS POSE TO THE CITIZENRY OF OUR STATE. THE F.L.A. DISTRIBUTES A MONTHLY ONLINE NEWSLETTER WHICH OUTLINES "BEST PRACTICES- AND TEACHES CUSTOMERS SERVICE SKILLS TO OUR MEMBERS. OUR ASSOCIATION IS COMPLETELY NON-PROFIT AND ALL OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS SERVE ON A VOLUNTEER BASIS, WITH NO COMPENSATION. THE MINIMAL COLLECTED SUPPORT OUR MEETINGS AND ONLINE EDUCATIONAL REPORTS. |
