“Mississippi association of self-insurers is qualified under the provisions of the internal revenue cpde 501(c)(6) as a non-profit organization and has been granted a tax-exempt status. The organization is liable for income taxes resulting from any non-related business income. The association adopted the provisions of fasb asc 740-20, accounting for uncertainty in income taxes, on january 1, 2009. The association has no recognized liability for any uncertainties in income taxes. The federal income tax returns of the association are subject to examination by the irs, generally for three years after they were filed.”
