Form 990, Part IX, Line 11G

Consultants: program service expenses 181,513. Management and general expenses 7,820. Fundraising expenses 19,300. Total expenses 208,633.

Part XII Line 2C - Process of Committee Oversight of the Fin Stmt Audit

The auditor meets with the board of directors making a full presentation at the completion of the audit for the year answering any of the board's questions. The auditor works closely with the board of directors during the year should any concerns arise.

Form 990, Page 12, Part XI, Line 8

While performing our review for 2019, we discovered 3 grants were not fully recorded at the time of award. This caused an understatement of previously reported restricted revenue. As a result, prior year restricted grant revenue and restricted net assets should have increased by $1,450,000.

PROGRAMMING FOR FAMILIES INCLUDES FINANCIAL COUNSELING, EDUCATIONAL FORUMS, WORKSHOPS, SOCIAL SERVICES AND MORE.- COMMUNITY OUTREACH - OPERATION SHOESTRING DEPENDS ON PARTNERSHIPS WITH PEOPLE AND ORGANIZATIONS FROM ACROSS JACKSON TO OFFER RESOURCES AND EXPERTISE THAT CAN'T BE PROVIDED BY THE ORGANIZATION ALONE, ESPECIALLY IN AREAS OF HEALTHCARE, FINANCIAL PLANNING AND SOCIAL SERVICES. OPERATION SHOESTRING IS ALSO A FOUNDING PARTNER IN THE MS STATEWIDE AFTERSCHOOL NETWORK THAT IS BEING ORGANIZED TO SUPPORT AFTERSCHOOL EFFORTS ACROSS THE STATE. THE ORGANIZATION WORKS WITH 78 COMMUNITY PARTNERS.- MS STATEWIDE AFTERSCHOOL NETWORK - WITH THE HELP OF A $225,000 GRANT, OPERATION SHOESTRING LEADS THE CREATION OF A STATEWIDE AFTERSCHOOL NETWORK THE FIRST OF ITS KIND IN MISSISSIPPI IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH STANDARDS, BEST PRACTICES AND COLLABORATION ON A LEVEL NEVER BEFORE ACHIEVED IN THE STATE. 295 FAMILES WERE SERVED BY THESE PROGRAMS.
