The federation has members made up of the county farm bureaus in the state of mississippi.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7A

At all membership meetings, each member county farm bureau shall be entitled to at least one voting delegate provided it has paid its dues during the current fiscal year and has at least twenty current active members. Each member county farm bureau shall have one vote in the election or removal of elected officers and directors, and in voting to alter, amend or repeal any charter or bylaw provision, but on all other matters voted upon by members, each member county farm bureau shall have one vote, plus one additional vote for each five hundred of its members.

A draft of the form 990 is provided to each member of the governing body and to the audit committee. The draft is reviewed and discussed and any questions brought up by the governing body members are answered and/or cleared before the return is filed with the irs.

Each member of the governing body and officers sign an acknowledgement of the conflict of interest policy. Any possible conlicts are reported at this time or during the year if a conflict arises.

The finance committee meets and makes a recommendation to the executive committee. They review compensation on an annual basis to determine cost of living increases, however, larger adjustments are reviewed periodically based on peer information from similar organizations.

THE FEDERATION HOSTS STATE AND NATIONAL PROGRAMS TO PROMOTE LEADERSHIP SKILLS FOR FARMERS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 18 TO 35. THE FEDERATION ALSO PROVIDES ACTIVITIES AND COMPETITIONS THAT RECOGNIZE YOUNG LEADERS IN AGRICULTURAL. THE FEDERATION RECOGNIZES AND AWARDS INDIVIDUAL CONTESTANT WINNERS TO HELP THEM FURTHER THEIR AGRICULTUREOPERATIONS.
