We will encourage hands-on community participation in WABS Educational Broadcasting by offering scholarships to local students who wish to pursue a career in communication and services broadcasting. First, as we launch our new broadcasting service we will use direct mail advertising during the launch to drive immediate awareness to our potential market. Second, we will use print advertising in the form of periodic company newsletters and brochures to educate, inform and update our contributors on services provided, membership benefits, sponsorship opportunities and to thank them for supporting us. Our print advertising will reinforce our message that WABS Educational Broadcasting is their community station and that their support is critical to its continued success. Pricing Listeners give to public radio stations because programming is important to them and they want to help sustain that programming. How much listeners are willing to contribute to a station, however, changes quite a bit depending on the demographic profile, economic conditions and the nature of the audience. At WABS Educational Broadcasting we will encourage listeners to "give what you can afford" we believe that by adopting this approach we are acknowledging to our listeners that each and every pledge is important to us, we want them to be comfortable with their decision to give and we want them to know that movement is possible in either direction - higher or lower - from the pledge levels suggested. |
