THE BELLE MONT CELTIC FEST IS A TWO-DAY HERITAGE-CULTURE EVENT HELD EACH MAY AT BELLE MONT MANSION IN TUSCUMBIA, AL. THIS FESTIVAL IS ALABAMA'S FIRST AND ONLY CELTIC MUSIC AND CULTURAL FESTIVAL. FRIDAY'S EVENTS ARE CENTERED WITHIN THE MUSEUM IN WHAT WAS BILLED AS A "MUSEUM DAY', WHEN THE COLBERT COUNTY HISTORICAL LANDMARKS FOUNDATION AND BELLE MONT MANSION HOLD HISTORIC PRESENTATIONS, LIFE-SKILLS DEMONSTRATIONS, SMALL VENUE MUSICAL PERFORMANCES WITH SCHOLARLY DISCUSSIONS, CRAFTS, A CANINE DEMONSTRATION (GORDON SETTERS), AND MUSIC INSTRUMENT WORKSHOPS PRESENTED BY CELTIC MUSICIANS - BAGPIPE, BAZOUKI AND CELTIC VOCALS. EVENTS ARE FREE OF CHARGE. MORE THAN 400 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS VISITIED AND PARTICIPATED IN THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING. THE ATTENDANCE AND REACH OF MUSEUM DAY WAS ABOUT 500 PEOPLE. The belle mont celtic fest is a two-day heritage-culture event held each may at belle mont mansion in tuscumbia, al. This festival is alabama's first and only celtic music and cultural festival. Friday's events are centered within the museum in what was billed as a "museum day', when the colbert county historical landmarks foundation and belle mont mansion hold historic presentations, life-skills demonstrations, small venue musical performances with scholarly discussions, crafts, a canine demonstration (gordon setters), and music instrument workshops presented by celtic musicians - bagpipe, bazouki and celtic vocals. Events are free of charge. More than 400 elementary school students visitied and participated in the educational programming. The attendance and reach of museum day was about 500 people. Saturday's events are focused on outstanding and authentic celtic musical performances staged on the grounds of belle mont. A gate admission was charged for these performances, which included acclaimed professional musicians: chambless and muse, the piper jones bank, the steel city rovers and the alabama pipes and drums, along with parlor performances by two hammers (hammered dulcimers). Celtic heritage was on display by arts and craft vendors and demonstrators. Celtic baked goods were included among food vendors. Tartans and celtic merchandise were available to study and to purchase. Creative and educational activities were provided for children. Attendance was estimated to be about 900 people. Total reach was about 1400 people.

Program service accomplishments: for almost 10 years, cchlf has hosted "art of the dish", an antique china display and luncheon at belle mont mansion as part of the helen keller festival in june. More than 150 guests attend to view antique china displays, some dating back to the 1700s, and to enjoy a boed lunch and presentaion of 1800s dining.

Program service accomplishments: each october, antique quilts from the tennessee river valley and beyond are displayed thougout the rooms of historic belle mont mansion, built circa 1828. Each friday in october, a special program at 1:00 p.m. Features a discussion fo the quilts and a "show and tell" opportunity for visitors to share their special quilts. More than 20 antique or vintage quilts were featured in 2024, curated by glen rikard from private collections. Dozens attended each friday to participate in quilt show discussions with mr. Rikard. Regular museum admission rates applied.
