“Young actors guild impacts, inspires, and engages underserved youth ages 3 -17 years old in performing arts. In serving youth, we offer a year round program in the city of memphis, tn. While youth develop in the arts, they are also exposed to team-building, service-learning, and cultural enrichment activities. Our vision our vision and goal is to expose and promote youth to the various opportunities available beyond their usual scope of everyday life. As we prepare our students, we offer an experience of a lifetime to travel and engage in activities as well as enrichment opportunities beyond the mid-south. Over the past 33 years, young actors guild performing arts academy a local non-profit has implemented arts programs in the city of memphis, tn. Our goal is to provide youth a platform to hone their gifts and talents through the arts. Our staff and organization has impacted over 39,000 youth with our dynamic arts programs as we strive to continue our rich tradition of bringing the arts back to the community. Our mission of educating, inspiring, and engaging youth through the arts provides youth a stage to rewrite the dim light of negative peer pressure, bullying, and dreams deferred. Today, the lens is now refocused to positive interaction, character building, and building circles of friends that uplift not only each other but those who surround them. Young actors guild theatre and dance performing arts academy acts as a catalyst of change in serving youth from diverse blueprints. To date we serve youth ranging from ages 3 17. Our youth are diverse in nature of single parent homes, two parents homes, being raised by grandparents, adopted, living in foster homes, and being raised by other relatives. The existence of economic barriers from low income, middle class, to an economic divide extending below the poverty level. We are 29 male and 71 female.”
