“A copy of the policy is mailed to board members annually and provides an opportunity to disclose any conflicts of interest. If any are disclosed, it will be resolved at the next board meeting.”

“CEO compensation for the CHATT Foundation is a multi-step process involving review of the overall financial resources and performance of the organization, regional market conditions and Executive Committee evaluation of the CEO's performance for the year. The initial step begins at the operational level wherein the foundation leadership determines sustainable annual increases in line with the year's actual and predicted financial performance. This includes a base, across the board increase for all staff, CEO included, which is in line with the published CPI indexes for the area. Individual merit increases for specific individuals may be proposed by the CEO and leadership team. These increases are reviewed and justified to the Executive Committee by the CEO during the budget review and approval process. CEO compensation includes the base, across the board salary increase outlined above plus supplemental pay based on a performance evaluation by the Executive Committee. This evaluation and discussion evaluates the CEO's execution of specific responsibilities and actions for the year in several areas. The Executive Committee, in private session, discusses the CEO's performance, after review and approval of next year's budget. Areas of evaluation include the CEO's operational effectiveness, progress towards strategic planning and initiatives, donor relations, representation of the CHATT Foundation and response to emergent issues. Overall compensation is compared to similar non-profits both locally and nationally. Board members discuss both positive and negative aspects of the past year and arrive at an appropriate amount. The offer is presented to the CEO for feedback and subsequent discussion, if needed. The final amount is approved by vote of the Executive Committee and recorded in meeting minutes. The amount is provided to the CFO for payment.”

“The organization makes its government documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements available to the public through the organization's website or upon request.”

“Permanent supportive housing - provides supportive permanent housing to chronically homeless men, women, and families through placement in communal living facilities and market housing throughout the community. Case management is provided. Other programs include: recycling, thrift store, clothing and household item give-away, program overnight shelters, cold weather shelter, foot care, and other critical services for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness.”
